Utskriftvänlig | | Shirov and Hector in top | The 4th CellaVision Chess Cup is finished. Two players got 7 points from the 8 rounds: Last years winnner GM Alexei Shirov and GM Jonny Hector. Shirov had the better correction and became winner. Top seeded GM Nils Grandelius was leading before the last round, but then he lost to Hector.
Besides Grandelius, three more players got 6½ points: GM Tiger Hillarp Persson, GM Vitaly Sivuk and GM Pia Cramling. The main group collected 184 players, from ten nations, of them 17 GM.
The minor group with 56 players was won by Gabriel Nord on 7½/8 before Meet Puri who took 7 points. | |
